| The basic Wright Toy model airplane kit. It's
a 1/12th scale model with a wing span measuring 41". Electric
motors and radio controlled flight gear are not included.
As we have just passed the Centennial Celebration of the Wright Brothers' First Flight, we are offering this fine, true representation of the original Wright Flyer. This laser cut kit designed by Jaime Johnston and Andy Clancy features actual wing warping and movable elevators just like the original 1903 flyer. Perfect for beginner level builders (recommended for 10 years and up), class projects, or any one that wants something unique and different. This kit includes a 32 page illustrated assembly manual which not only describes the detailed construction steps complete with drawings to assist the builder, it also gives a nice introduction and historical insight as the how the original airplane was built 100 years ago! Assemble it as a static display, rubber FF, or electric RC powered model. All of the parts for this kit have been cut on our CNC Laser, providing the model builder with crisp, dimensionally correct components. This model will provide a challenge to beginning builders but careful assembly will reward the novice and expert alike with a true scale representation of the original Wright Flyer. The completed model is easily adapted to electric powered radio controlled flight. If you are planning to fly your model by radio control, the dummy engine is used to discreetly house the receiver and speed control, and the electric motors are attached to the drive shafts for the propellers. Note that the elevator controls are actuated by movement of the pilots arm via a servo in his body. Kits $79 + $10 S&H, ARF $139 + $25 S&H |
